Scope of Conversion

PDF2Office takes a PDF document and performs the following processing -

1.  Forms Paragraphs and applies indentations (justification is set to left)
2. Applies text styles and retains font information (or font mapping is performed)
3. Constructs Page properties such as Margins and Page breaks where appropriate
4. Matches Headers and Footers where possible
5. Interpolates Columns and Section breaks
6. Forms Endnotes/Footnotes
7.  Identifies and Creates Tables
8. Regroups intersecting and overlapping Graphics
9. Processes all images (except JBIG/JPEG2000 format) and re-groups

Opening PDF documents directly in Office applications

To Open a PDF document within Microsoft® Word/PowerPoint® 2000-2003, FrontPage 2003 or SharePoint Designer.
Click the PDF2Office icon in the PDF2Office toolbar
 
To Open a PDF document within Microsoft® Word/PowerPoint® 2007.
Click the Open PDF File icon in the PDF2Office ribbon

Once the Open PDF File dialog box appears select the PDF file to open & Click the Open button

Once the PDF2Office - Conversion Options dialog box appears, specify the settings in the PDF2Office - Conversion Options dialog box and click OK

Font Matching, Substitution and Auto-Sizing
A new font matching, substitution and scaling mechanism has been introduced. The fonts in the PDF document are matched against fonts present in your system and if match cannot be found, the font can be substituted and its size scaled to closely match the layout characteristics of the original PDF document. Each font that could not be matched can be substituted with a specific font.

Mathematical Formula Processing
A mathematical formula identification mechanism has been introduced. This allows PDF2Office to identify and group data that may be interpreted as mathematical formulas.

Document Inspector
A Document Inspector has been added, allowing you to view the meta-data, document restriction information, and fonts used in a PDF document.

Hyphenation Controls
Advanced hyphenation controls have been introduced that enable precise control over hyphens that appear at the end of line when a word is hyphenated.

Image Specification and Resolution DPI settings
You can now specify the image conversion type when converting a PDF file to Word, Power point®, RTF or HTML format. Additionally, the resolution of images being converted can be specified.

Grouping of Overlapping images
When converting images to image file types, you can now specify whether images that overlap should be grouped and treated as a single image.

Enhanced Retain Layout/Process Forms mode
The Retain Layout/Process Form conversion has been dramatically enhanced to offer even more exact layout retention. Additionally, all images, graphics and text are now ungrouped allowing speedier and easier editing. Finally, text box/text frame generation has been dramatically reduced wherever possible.

Control Center
The Conversion Settings bar has been replaced with the Control Center. The Control Center contains the Conversion Settings and Document Inspector panels.

PDF Reconstruction v4.0
PDF2Office Professional now includes the latest PDF Reconstruction v4.0 engine offering dramatic enhancements when converting PDF documents, which includes enhanced table recognition and processing, graphics processing, complex layout and PDF data recognition. Paths are now also converted to native paths resulting in crisp and clear anti-aliased curves. Gradients in PDF files are now processed and converted. Finally, limited clipping path support has been introduced for lines and rectangles.

Enhanced Performance and Conversion Speed
Coversions are now up to 70% faster and utilize less memory then before.

Unicode Savvy
PDF2Office is now Unicode compliant. Non-Roman file names are now recognized. Additionally, file names in Japanese, Chinese, Korean languages display in the correct encoding/languages. Finally, the Conversion log is now a Unicode text file as well.

QuickTime dependency removed
The prerequisite that QuickTime v4.0 or higher be installed has been removed.
