When you customize a d4100y series PC, you get to choose from three Windows XP operating systems:

Windows XP Professional, recommended for offices; it has an encrypting file system to protect sensitive data

Step up the pace with Intel's dual-processor-core technology and 945P Express Chipset
HP d4100y PCs have Intel® Pentium® D processors with Hyper-Threading Technology and two processor cores for more horsepower. You also get the Intel 945P Express Chipset, which supplies the juice for 3-D-intensive games and broadcast entertainment. Plus, all supported processors features Intel's EM64T technology, which is designed to support future 64-bit software applications¹ but scaled to work with existing 32-bit apps (each d4100y is configured as a 32-bit solution).

Label your CDs and DVDs with silkscreen-quality art and text
The optional HP DVD writer with HP's new LightScribe technology lets you burn precise, professional-looking labels directly on LightScribe-enabled media, straight from your PC. After burning a disc, you just flip and reinsert it in the same drive for labeling; there's no need to print, align, or adhere a sticker.

Upgrade your viewing with superior graphics cards
Want stellar graphics? The d4100y has a PCI Express slot that provides up to twice the bandwidth of AGP 8X and supports the latest graphics cards including NVIDIA's GeForce FX 6800.

Let RAID protect your files and improve your hard-drive performance
The d4100y offers 7200rpm Serial ATA hard drives in sizes up to 400GB'. Or add a FastTrak Serial ATA RAID card, bundled with two Serial ATA hard drives (80GB^§ or 160GB^§). Choose between two configuration options ("RAID levels"), which optimize your PC on the basis of mirroring (for data backup) or performance.

Each d4100y model offers an optional PCI TV tuner card with personal video recorder (PVR) functionality, which lets you record individual TV shows and entire series, plus pause and rewind live TV. Upgrading to the dual TV tuner lets you watch and record two programs at once². Add a remote control and you can control your content from up to 10' away for a true TV experience.

Stock up on high-capacity, portable storage
Choose the new HP Personal Media Drive, a second, removable hard drive that fits inside the d4100y chassis or can be used externally with another PC via USB 2.0, for handy, on-the-go storage. Pop it in your computer, load it with digital files, and take it along.

Showcase your photo collection
Digital photography is easy with HP's Image Zone software, which helps you manage, edit, share, print, and preserve your snapshots. Plus, you'll be able to download photos fast with the optional 9-in-1 digital media card reader.
