It does this by encrypting each individual file with key technology so that only the intended person, who had previously provided their public key, can read it. • Remote to Remote Transfer  
  Allows users the ability to set up their desktop computer and simultaneously manage and transfer documents among multiple remote folders.
• Advanced File & Folder Management  
  Users can establish unlimited home and remote folders. Enhanced connection wizards with contextual prompters provide user feedback for positive establishment. Folder view icons can be created on a per user basis allowing for individual preference. The ability to integrate folder views on a per connection basis for both local and remote favorites.
• Filename Conversions  
  Allows users to apply file name changes on files being uploaded, downloaded or in both directions.
• Customized User Experience  
  Users can customize their individual view of their frequently accessed locations such as local sites, network drives, network mapped drives and FTP remote sites. • Multi-part Downloads
  Allows you to split a large file into multiple parts and use multiple transfer connections to download those parts simultaneously. These parts are combined back to their original state as you receive it. This allows you to get more out of your bandwidth.
• Synchronize Utility
  Keeps your remote sites up-to-date by automatically uploading files, which have changed, while deleting files that you've removed from the master directory.
• Scripting
  Automates the transfer and management of files through a series of FTP commands such as "open", "get", and "put". You can create a script that instructs WS_FTP Pro to upload certain files, and then use Scheduler to run the script at regularly scheduled times.
• Scheduler
  Provides you with the ability to schedule your file transfer tasks on the dates and times you specify. Use this feature to run scripts developed with the Scripting utility at set intervals.

  The user interface has been significantly enhanced allowing for ease of use and increased productivity. The Menu Bar, Tool Bar, Connection Bar, Connection Pane and Information Window were all updated to be more XP looking and easy to maneuver. All icons/artwork/symbols throughout the product were updated for ease of feature enablement. Updated tabbed interface allows easy view changing from the transfer manager, transfer history and connection log manager for better management of file transfer and connectivity activities.

• Hot Drop
  Transfer files and folders without launching WS_FTP Professional by simply dragging and dropping files into a HotDrop folder you create and WS_FTP Professional instantly uploads your file. There's no limit to the amount of HotDrops you can create.
• Drag-n-drop
  Simplifies and speeds up your file transfer tasks by allowing you to drag files from FTP sites to your desktop, folders, and even applications.
• Browser URL Integration
  Accelerates your downloads by automatically starting WS_FTP Professional when you click on an FTP URL in your web browser.
• Auto Reconnect
  Automatically remembers your settings and reloads them the next time you start WS_FTP Professional. With ease, you can now connect to your most recently visited FTP Site, open the folder most recently used, and keep the most recent view.
• Auto Retry
  Allows you to define the number of automatic retries for failed downloads to increase your chance of a successful transfer.
• Auto Resume
  Automatically resumes interrupted or failed transfers in case of involuntary termination, such as with broken connections, computer crashes, and power outages. Once WS_FTP Professional is restarted, it automatically reconnects and completes the interrupted transfer.
• Active Edit
  Edit files on ftp sites using your favorite software. By associating certain file types with an application, the file can be opened and edited in that application. For example: .HTML files can be opened and edited in Microsoft® Front Page when selected; .JPG,.GIF, .BMP, can be opened and edited in Adobe Photoshop when selected; etc.
• Once the file is edited, you have the option to save it on the ftp site or specify when the changed file should be uploaded or even deleted. With Active Edit, you'll no longer need to constantly re-upload files every time you make an edit.
• Firescript Editor
  Provides you with the ability to customize scripts which makes it easy for you to transfer files through your unique firewall configuration. It saves you time and also provides you with unlimited access to, and selection of, files for uploading and downloading
• Find Utility
  Lets you search FTP sites for files that match a name or pattern. This is especially useful when looking for one file on a large, complex FTP site. You can also find files by size or date
• Dial-up Manager
  Once you start an FTP connection, WS_FTP Pro automatically dials up to connect to the Internet. Once you close WS_FTP Pro, the dial-up session is automatically terminated as well. You no longer need to wait for a large file download so you can terminate you dial-up session, or even shutdown your computer.
