Overview

The TinyTERM terminal emulator employs 1024-bit ssh® secure shell encryption technology to ensure secure data for intranet employees, extranet business partners, and Internet customers. This important innovation, found only in the full-featured TinyTERM host-access solutions, delivers the most secure UNIX and Linux host access available from PC’s.

Secure shell is a highly secure replacement for telnet, rlogin, rsh, and rcp, that allows users to log into a host over a network, execute commands as if entered directly from the host console, and move files from one computer to another.

Secure shell provides strong authentication—even the password transmission is encrypted—and all data and resources are secure when secure shell is enabled. If a secure shell session is hijacked, any data collected is useless and cannot be played back, and hardware resources are protected because all an intruder can do is force secure shell to disconnect.

Everything TinyTERM does can be automated with Century Software’s powerful JavaScript-like scripting language, CScript, included with all versions of TinyTERM.

With CScript you can customize and automate connections and communications, the look and feel of the interface, file transfers, and operating system control. With just one CScript you can connect to a host, log in, add a menu, poll remote servers, transfer and process files, log out, shut down, and more—all beginning with the simple double click of a mouse. There are several scripts supplied with TinyTERM to help demonstrate the capabilities of CScript.

CScript supports DLL extensions, ActiveX controls, and OLE. And, since the functionality and syntax of CScript is similar to that of JavaScript, there are growing legions of programmers throughout the world who can easily support CScript.

With TinyTERM you can customize your keyboard code page configuration, you can customize your transmit and receive code page configurations, or you can choose from one of the many code page configurations supplied, ensuring compatibility with nearly any computer system.

TinyTERM provides multi-language capabilities without reconfiguration because of simultaneous multiple-font support and the TERM Character Set of 768 unique characters.

You can choose screen colors or use a background image. You can choose 80- or 132-column mode, and full-screen display. You can use scalable TrueType fonts, and you have complete control over attribute mapping, such as color, bright, reverse, blink, underline, bold, normal, strike through, and double strike to help make text easier to locate and read.
